About Us

Our group studies adaptation to climate variability for the planning and management of water systems and construction. We are interested in the relationships and the dynamics of the human-environment interaction. Our work is based on interdisciplinary collaboration (e.g., engineering, computer sciences, and social science). For such purposes, our team uses computational tools.

Research

Motivation:

Climate variability poses a colossal challenge for planning and managing water systems and construction. So, adapting this variability is critical for our survival. In our environment, water is a finite element (e.g., only 0.0002% of our planet's water is in rivers). Besides, the human population is growing around the globe, causing intensive water consumption for food and energy production. Moreover, climate variability produces global changes in water availability and extreme event patterns. Consequently, research on human-environment interaction is crucial for decision-making, planning, and constructing our future infrastructure.
